is expressly forbidden (Tit 3:2; Jas 4:11), and severe punishments are denounced against it (1Co 5:11; 6:10). It is spoken of also with abhorrence (Ps 15:3; Pr 18:6-7), and is foreign to the whole Christian character and the example of Christ.

He does not slander, or do harm to others, or insult his neighbor.
The lips of a fool enter into strife, and his mouth invites a flogging. The mouth of a fool is his ruin, and his lips are a snare for his life.

Do not speak against one another, brothers and sisters. He who speaks against a fellow believer or judges a fellow believer speaks against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but its judge.
